Youth Filmmakers Competition - presented by the Inside And Out Project (IAOP)
OCFF has partnered with the Inside And Out Project (IAOP), a non-profit organization that provides a wide variety of programs and initiatives for Youth. The Youth Filmmakers portion of the festival will highlight films made by youth ages 9-17 years old at the time of submission. This competition offers experience and exposure in film festivals while providing education, and guidance. Winners will have their films screened at the in-person festival.
A competition created to reach the youngest generation of independent film fans, showcasing work that will appeal to young and old alike. Accepted projects may include selections from the Narrative, Documentary, Animation, and Episodic categories. Submissions must meet the eligibility requirements for each. Films selected for this program will be presented in-person. These film screenings are an opportunity for emerging young directors to showcase their skills, talent, and vision while giving the audience a chance to view and discuss the artistry, passion, and sacrifice involved in the independent filmmaking process. We offer young filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their talents and receive the recognition they deserve from a global audience.
Films must be by youth ages 9 -17 and range from 1-50 minutes to qualify.
Programming for the festival has our creative youth kicking off the film festival with the Inside And Out Project. This allows the Youth to experience the festival at age-appropriate times. There is no age limit to attend the festival, although guests must follow the age classification system for each film.
Our staff reserves the right to withdraw your ticket at any time during or before the event. Kindly be respectful towards our staff.
